Note that the RT/LT mirror glass is slightly convex so having replacement mirror glass cut at a glass shop and replacing the RT/LT mirror glass with flat mirror glass isn't a great idea.

Remove Mirror From Fairing:

The RT/LT mirrors are made to break away and can be easily removed from the main fairing. Each side's mirror is mounted on three "pins." Here's what the right side mirror mounting pins look like:

There are three corresponding holes on the mirror body. Each hole has six tabs with a ring around them. There are also foam gaskets at the top and bottom.

To remove a right side mirror I stand on the right side of the bike, held the mirror body with my left hand and then smack the front of the mirror body with my right hand.

Remove Mirror Glass:

The mirror glass mounts to and rotates on a round ball with a nub on each side.

To remove the mirror glass without breaking it, place a thick or folded over towel on a hard surface and then slam the mirror down hard. You want a thick or folded towel to give the mirror glass a nice soft place to land. Note that you may have to slam it down several times to free the mirror glass because you have to slam it down pretty darned hard. Here's a video example:

Or you can try to pry it out from the sides but you then stand a good chance of breaking the glass. CAUTION: If you do try to pry it out then you should wear eye protection.

Install Mirror Glass:

Lubricate the mounting ball in the mirror body with spit. Carefully press on the CENTER of the glass with your thumbs to seat the glass.

Install Mirror On Fairing:

Line up the holes of the mirror body with the pins of the fairing. Being careful not to tip the bike over, press the two rear mirror body holes on to seat them and then press on the front hole to complete the installation. Then pull forward and back on the mirror body to ensure that the mirror is firmly attached.
