Enable Choke Indicator - K75/K100

(not applicable to K100RS-4V)

1983-1990 model year K100s and K75s have a yellow "choke" light indicator in the instrument cluster that illuminates to remind you when the choke lever is activated. (Position 1 or 2 below.)

(Since K bikes are fuel injected, it is actually a throttle advance, not a real choke like carbureted engines have. However, BMW labels it a choke so that's how people refer to it.)

If you'd like to enable the choke indicator on a 1991 or later K75 or K100 then all you need to do is add a switch to the back of the throttle body assembly and connect that to the choke connector of the main wring harness. (1991 and later Ks already have this connector. There's just nothing attached to it.)

Two BMW parts are required:

Switch

Part 61311459569

Spacer Ring

Part 13541460926

The threaded switch with spacer ring install at the rear inside of the throttle body assembly.

The connector for the choke switch is located under the left side of the gas tank. It has two wires:

Brown - Ground

Violet/White - Instrument Cluster Indicator
