Early K bikes came with a "full-sized" battery compartment. 1994 and later K1100s came with a "half-sized" battery compartment.

You really don't need a full-sized battery for any K bike anymore though. "Half-sized" AGM batteries work just fine.

Here are the batteries that I use and recommend:

- WestCo 12V20P

- Odyssey PC680

Both of those are reliable, sealed, no maintenance batteries that last many years.
